Our client Hot Shots produce world class cooking fuel (such as barbecue briquettes & firewood). They came to us to redevelop their brand so that it would provide ‘cut through’ in a cluttered marketplace and produce a new website that reflected this new positioning. The campaign had to appeal to a male demographic.
We created engaging new branding across all company touchpoints (logo, stationery, packaging) that reflected the brief, by presenting customers with a more playful brand image, one that was designed to get on-shelf cut through and was deliberately humourous and irreverent, playing on a retro appeal and the primal male fascination with fire. By extension, we created a highly interactive and visually engaging website with clean and simple navigation that was cleverly animated (not using Flash technology) allowing for a rich user experience.
The website provided a clear ‘point of difference’ for the brand, creating on-shelf cut through, becoming more engaging as a product and therefore driving sales. A social media / digital communications campaign is shortly to be launched to support the new positioning.
